Copy formatting from one item to another

- [Instructor] The format painter allows you to copy the formatting from one item to another. If you have some text with special formatting applied to it, you can select that text, and copy it by right clicking and choosing copy, and then selecting the format painter in the home ribbon. Then simply drag your cursor across another piece of text to select it. The format painter applies the format of the last thing you copied, and you can apply the format painter to multiple items. Just activate the format painter again, and select some more text. If you plan to set several pieces of text to the same specific formatting, you should consider using styles instead. Simply select some text, and in the home ribbon open up the style gallery, and choose one of the pre-made styles here. Or you can select a piece of text with your special formatting. Go to the styles gallery and choose create a style, to create a new style based on that format. Here you can give it a name and click OK. That format is now saved as a style in the style gallery and can be applied at any time.
