Sort your data based on a Custom List that you define

- [Instructor] In Excel, when you want to sort a list 2 like the one we're seeing on the screen here, 3 this is about 750 rows, 4 we have options for using what's called a custom list. 5 Let's imagine this list of employees here, 6 right now is sorted alphabetically by name 7 based on what we see in column A. 8 We'd like to sort this by status. 9 So I'll click somewhere in column B, 10 and because I've worked with this data before, 11 I know that when I go to the data tab in the ribbon, 12 I can simply press AZ and it will sort the list. 13 Now, if you're not familiar with the list 14 or haven't seen it in a while, 15 it's a better idea to click the larger sort button 16 and just make sure that Excel either recognizes 17 or doesn't recognize that top row as your header row. 18 Typically it will do this automatically. 19 And we can do sorting from here of course, too. 20 Let's do it since we are here, we can sort by…
