- [Instructor] Excel's Data Validation capability 2 is a great tool 3 for ensuring that bad data doesn't get into a worksheet. 4 On the other hand, when you get a worksheet 5 from some other source, 6 or maybe this is one of your old worksheets 7 and you're trying to figure out what's going on, 8 sometimes you're surprised 9 because there are data validation rules 10 that you just didn't expect. 11 In other words, sometimes you just stumble over them. 12 If I click in column B here in this list, I do see arrows, 13 so I recognize that there is a choice to be made here. 14 This is one use of data validation, 15 and it pops up obviously because we see the drop arrow. 16 Now, I've been told 17 that some of these entries here are incorrect, 18 I'm about to make a change here. 19 This should have been 720 instead of 710, 20 so I'm going to highlight this, 21 and I just happened to type it as 02 instead of 20. 22 I…
