- [Instructor] We're back in our new officeproposal.DWG file which is the host drawing to our external reference drawing, the landscapingarea.DWG file. Now in the previous video, I showed you how to edit an external reference file and then see how you needed to reload it in the host drawing. You can also edit an external reference file in place while you're in the host drawing. So I've got the external reference file loaded up in the host drawing, in the new office proposal drawing. There it is there. I click on it like so, and I get the external reference tab on the ribbon at the top of the screen again. If I go up here to edit reference in place, what it does now is it asks me to identify the reference I want to edit. So there's my landscaping area there, automatically select all nested objects because there might be blocks and other reference files. So I'll just click on Okay.
