- [Instructor] The IOT architecture genetic model has three layers, physical, communication and application. So using our example of the health monitoring system, the physical layer includes patient buddy sensors, micro-controllers, network devices, and any medical device in the system. This also includes the computers or devices used to display the collected data from the sensors. The second layer includes the communication protocols of the networks use to transfer data from the sensors to a back-end destination like the internet or the local area network. The third layer is where data is received for analysis or monitoring. It couldn't be an app within a smartphone, computer software or a data control center application.
