When should I use precompositions in After Effects?

- A pre-composition is simply a composition inside another composition. There's really two ways to go about this. One might be if you bring something into the document itself, so you move a comp into another comp by drag and dropping, or maybe like the example where we had our layered logo files, dropping those into another project. This would keep those individual layers intact but you can also go ahead and nest individual layers that you select into a new pre-comp. This could be useful if you want to force things like the render order. So it processes those layers first. Or because you just want to keep things organized. Let me show you in this project, you'll notice that the bars have been brought in. This makes it easy to treat these as a group. But if I double click, I'm inside that individual item.
