Using a floor image

- One of my favorite techniques when working with Motion Control 3D is to create a ground plane. This gives you an actual image that occupies the floor. This will give you a real sense of movement as you take the camera and animate it. That's because you don't just have cut-out layers. It's important though, when you have points of contact with the ground, and that there's perspective in the scene, it'll really add a lot to these types of animations. Let me show you an example. Now, you really have a sense of movement if you take the camera and animate it. Let's go here to the beginning of this comp, and I'll press play. Notice, as the camera pulls back, we really feel as if we're moving along the surface. Now, in this case, we're previewing at slightly lower quality, but notice it drifts over the surface itself. We can actually see the bricks in the road as we move through the scene, and it really creates a sense of…
