RecordGo WAS my favorite car rental…

RecordGo WAS my favorite car rental company in Spain for many years with perfect service until last rental, when they cheated with fuel deposit. There is no way to complain using customer service! I have all evidence to make complain that car was returned with full tank, and it was shown to drop-off stuff too, but there is no email where proofing documents could be sent. Customer web form reply standard bullshit from no-reply address. 1800€ excess deposit was release after 2 weeks as expected, but instead of 71€ prepayment for fuel I got back only 38€. What happened with RecordGo performance? It seems that my mistake was choice of reserve a guaranteed Mercedes A class car at Palma de Mallorca, because with cheaper cars in other Spanish locations were no problems.

The amount depends on the model/make and the market price. When returning the vehicle, we check the fuel level and reimburse the corresponding amount. In order to consider the tank full, you need to present a petrol station ticket from a petrol station within 10 km of the return office. The unit of measurement is every 1/8 tank. We recommend you to contact our customer service via our web form for more effective assistance. Please do not hesitate to provide specific details for a better service, greetings!

My opinion for this company its that, they are scamers! Its been now 40 days that i dont receive my deposit back! Actually they send deposit back but not to my banc! I don’t recommend this company !👎👎👎👎👎

hired car at Olbia.

hired car at Olbia.
Waited an hour to get car.
Rushed staff member said nothing about taking videos and especially not underneath.
On return they charged £400.00 for a little rough edge under the bumper.
They insisted we did the slight damage and we were told to take pictures and video,s which we were never asked to do.
I will never us them again.... its a scam so they offset their low prices.

I had a lovely holiday in Majorca from Sept 7th to 13th. I read with interest a previous review from the week before– who named Nabiel in their complaint. I to had the misfortune to encountered Nabiel on the check-out desk who scammed me out of unwarranted additional insurance. My booking was for a Compact, Petrol, Manuel car. Initially he tried to palm me off with an automatic; I explained I had no experience of an automatic transmission. He then offered me an upgraded car but also an automatic. I again explained I had no experience of driving an automatic especially a car with left hand drive. Nabiel explained I would have to wait until a manual car was available.
He pointed out the deposit for the fuel – which I understood was in the contract. He then requested an extra Euros 208 for insurance. On at least three occasions I explained I had purchased additional insurance at my initial booking, that I did not need to purchase more insurance. He did not take this on board. He then stated if I didn’t take out the insurance on offer I would not receive my deposit of 1200 euros on the return of the car. I am unable to find my documents highlighting my initial contract showing my fully protected insurance.
Now we come to the scam. He stood up from his desk, leaned up against the wall and stated “ it’s your choice, without insurance you will not have your deposit returned, There are many car on the road in Majorca”. Because I was unable to find my documents, I was filled with doubt and his clever salesmanship, I relented and paid the extra insurance.
When I picked up the car I discovered it was not a compact car but an SUV – A petrol guzzler.
The following day - whilst in my accommodation and not under pressure I found my documents clearly stating I had had purchased Fully Protected Insurance with the initial car rental booking.
I hope Nabiel is happy with the bonus he received after selling me unneeded insurance. I will never book a rental car with Record Go again. Beware of this company and of a staff member named Nabiel.

Terms and conditions changed after…

Terms and conditions changed after booking, lady at the counter told us we could not drive the car on an island (our destination) and there is nothing she can do. Called back later and she hung up on us. Told us to call customer support in spain. Phantom company, impossible to get a human on a phone. Stay well away

Edit: They have replied to this post but have not replied to any of my emails for 3 days. They send me the original T&Cs and invoice on email, when I booked and later added an island travel interdiction on the T&Cs on their website. That is not how contracts work.

Shocking customer service

The car was good, service shocking. Ordered a car, collected from Majorca airport, was busy but dealt with us quickly as had tired children.
Car was great and recently washed as still wet on the outside.
Returned the car and was told that all ok and money would be returned. Petrol deposit returned, however, the main deposit of 1200 has not been returned. Tried calling an emailing details at top of invoice and no reply. Found another email online, which they have responded to saying that they would refund the money immideately, however, nothing so far. I've had a to raise a charge back with my CC company. Been charged interest this month, which I am asking for back but so far no joy.
I won't be using them again, if you do don't expect your deposit back without a fight!

It’s amazing that you reply to a negative review the. Ext day but have been ignoring my emails. There is literally no way to complain. There is a form on your wensite but nowhere to write anything and you just get an automated reply similar to the above. It has been nearly 6 weeks and still no refund or correspondence from you other than your reply to this review.

They may be the cheapest but take your money so end up being more expensive. My advice would be DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Neigt naar oplichting

Via Rentalcars.com een auto gehuurd bij Record Go. Aangezien ik op mijn American Express kaart een verzekering heb voor alle auto’s die ik huur, heb ik vooraf gecontroleerd of ze Amex accepteren. Zowel op de website als bij de balie volle bak Amex logo’s, dus all good; zou je denken…

In de avond aangekomen op Ibiza probeerde de baliemedewerker mij eerst wijs te maken dat Amex geen deposit accepteert. Totale onzin, maar leuk geprobeerd. Na enige discussie gaf de medewerker toe dat het een policy van het bedrijf is om geen deposit te accepteren via Amex. (overigens is een deposit officieel niet eens nodig als je al een verzekering hebt, maar ik wilde niet moeilijk doen)

Helaas moest de deposit volgens deze medewerker wel betaald worden, of ik kon een aanvullende verzekering afsluiten. Eieren voor mijn geld gekozen; cancelen zou betekenen bij een ander een niet vooraf gereserveerde auto halen en een zeurend gezin om me heen. Dus, verzekering afgetikt. Die mocht ik betalen met…. Mijn Amex kaart.

Gelukkig maar, want American Express is helemaal niet gediend van deze praktijken en gaat nu zowel mijn klacht in behandeling nemen alsmede bekijken of deze club zich als Amex merchant wel aan de regels houdt.

Jammer hoor, want de auto was prima en de haal-breng service vanaf de luchthaven ook. De medewerkers worden alleen getraind om de klanten zoveel mogelijk geld uit de zakken te kloppen. Zonde, zo’n begin van de vakantie en vooral erg onnodig.

Voor mij nooit meer Record Go, er zijn voldoende andere verhuurmaatschappijen op en rondom de luchthaven.

Experiencia buena , pero deficiente transfer ...

La experiencia como siempre es muy buena en cuanto a la contratación, el precio y el personal y trato de oficina.
Sin embargo el transfer es muy deficiente. Furgonetas sin señalizar lo que dificulta su identificación, demasiado tiempo de espera por la demanda que hay. El punto de recogida tampoco está señalizado y es difícil de encontrar

Very good experience

We were let down on arrival in bergamo italy by another company. We went to recordgo and they rented us 2 suvs without any issue. Staff were very professional and had no issues. We took the full coverage insurance and a deposit of the full tank was held on the card incase we didn't drop back full. We had no issues at all. Easy from start to finish. Car was in really good condition.

Alquile un MG ZS

Alquile un MG ZS, no dan ningún tipo de explicación y está configurado en Alemán. Venía ya con seguro a todo riesgo pagado pero nos hicieron sacar seguro un Premium 113€ porque el que teníamos no incluía la perdida de llaves y algunas otras cosas importantes, o la opción de retenerte 900€ de la tarjeta
Te dan el depósito lleno por 113€ y luego al entregarlo lleno como estaba te devuelven solo 100€. No puedes reclaman porque te lo ingresan directamente en la tarjeta después de comprobar que está correcto. En fin no volveré a alquilar en esta empresa, por el dinero que he pagado por 3 días casi te da para dar la entrada de uno nuevo.

El monto depende del modelo/marca y del precio del mercado. Al devolverlo, verificamos el nivel de combustible y reembolsamos lo correspondiente. Para considerar el tanque lleno, necesitas presentar un tique de gasolinera a menos de 10 km de la oficina de devolución. La unidad de medida es cada 1/8 de depósito. Take loads of internal photos as well as external

Was charged €1280 for a mark on the dash which was already there prior to hire. Luckily we had photos of the mark but it was still a fight to get the charge refunded to my card.
We hired car from Alicante, Terrible queues and Terrible service.
And their extra insurance doesn't cover internal damage unless its caused in a crash!
Would never hire from Record go again

Buenas tardes,

Pongo una estrella porque no existe la posibilidad de NO poner ninguna.
Nefasto o inexistente servicio de Atención al Cliente. He mandado 8 mails sin respuesta en 7 días . Imposible contactar telefónicamente. No existe el número.
Mi coche se averió NO disponía de MANUAL DE INSTRUCCIONES. Pasada una semana , todavía espero que alguien me contacte para saber qué ocurrió, ofrecerme otro coche o devolverme el importe proporcional de la reserva que no pude utilizar.

You obliged me to pay a second reservation because I have two first name … i presented my passport, driving licence and credit card thé same used for réservation!
I was victim of discrimination in your agency of palermo parking providence.
Please provide me back my first réservation on my credit card.
Ok we are tourists, but we have to be respected !

I hired a car from Record Go at Barcelona Airport

I hired a car from Record Go at Barcelona Airport through Booking.com (booking ref: 667251325). Despite taking the full insurance package, I was treated appallingly on return. The handler used foul language, refused to give his name, and denied me the right to sign the return form.

Record Go then took €1,800 deposit and a further €380 without authorisation. I have time-stamped photos proving the alleged damage was pre-existing. I am now in dispute with them via my bank and Booking.com’s insurance team.

Customers deserve to know: this company uses aggressive tactics and unauthorised charges. Avoid at all costs.

Nooit meer!!

Nooit meer!!! Auto gehuurd, bedrag afgeschreven van credit card maar geen bevestiging per mail. Vervolgens 4 uur aan de lijn gehangen niemand wist iets???? Volgende ochtend bedrag terug gestort. Wij hebben een nieuwe reservering gemaakt want de volgende dag vlogen we. Dit keer wel een bevestiging per mail en het nieuwe bedrag afgeschreven. Eenmaal aangekomen op de luchthaven is de boeking vanuit Recordgo geannuleerd, geld terug gestort, en wij staan ZONDER auto. SCHANDALIG!!!! Hoe kunnen ze een auto aanbieden als er niks beschikbaar is?? HUUR HIER NOOIT EEN AUTO!!!!!!!

Klasse, Helena! RecordGo Mallorca

Voor de 3e keer een auto via Booking gereserveerd bij dit bedrijf. Er stond een lange rij toen wij aankwamen, maar er was genoeg baliepersoneel om dat snel te verwerken. De doe het zelf-zuilen waren uitgeschakeld. We werden heel vriendelijk geholpen door Helena. We hadden een Jeep Compass gereserveerd, maar we kregen een groter model toebedeeld voor dezelfde prijs. Geen probleem, met 5 volwassenen gaf dat enkel meer ruimte. Echter, toen wij naar de uitgiftebalie liepen, was die gesloten. Een totaal ongeïntereseerde medewerker zei dat hij geen sleutels had, en dat we terug konden gaan naar de balie om die op te halen. Daar wist ook niemand iets van onze sleutels, en keken elkaar een beetje glazig aan, zoals een koe kijkt als die aan het herkauwen is. Er waren meer huurders die in dezelfde situatie zaten. Helena was aan het einde van haar shift en is toch met ons meegelopen naar de garage om onze sleutel te zoeken. Ze heeft hem daar ook nog aangetroffen, en we konden vertrekken. Klasse, Helena! Geef mij 10 medewerkers met dezelfde mentaliteit als haar, en ik verover de wereld met mijn bedrijf.

Svindlerfirma

Hold jer langt væk fra det her svindlerfirma, som ikke sender depositum tilbage. For det første havde jeg købt fuld forsikring på bilen. Da jeg skal have udleveret bilen skal jeg dertil ligge 1300 euro i depositum for bilen, hvis der skulle komme skader på (hvilket ikke giver mening da jeg har købt fuld forsikring) og atter skal lige 130 euro i depositum for benzin (som jeg har aldrig har set skyggen af igen)

No me devuelven mi depósito de gasolina un mes después y no hay forma de contactar con ellos. Están ya fuera de plazo para devolvermelo. Ladrones y sinvergüenzas. Nunca repetiré.
