It surely is not iOS 17.4.1 because...

I conducted a thorough search of this forum using the term 'Quick Search Spotlight after iOS update' and uncovered numerous posts detailing similar issues across various iOS updates. This suggests that iOS updates may not consistently be the root cause. Below are a handful of examples extracted from over 1,000 search results:

"After iOS 17.4.1" will be an addition to this list posted by you.

Report this to Apple:

I'm sure it's been reported "many many times" on these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported it directly to Apple?"

Do your Part: Apple rarely reads these forums on their own time. So, to get the word out to Apple on this, provide them with feedback. They won't get back to you directly on this, but the more they hear of it, the more they will know what problems exist and how to go about fixing them. So, do you part and provide feedback on it. Be certain that you are positive with the feedback (elsewise, it'll likely be filtered out).

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all started after installing an update, and how you have troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.

I went to the local Apple Genius Bar with my Boot Looping

Ipad Pro since I updated to ios update 17.4.1. The lady linked mine to a Mac

laptop and installed the ios update 17.4.1

version ending 237. After it installed she suggested I should create a

new Apple ID which I did complete. Next she ran a complete diagnostic test of

my Ipad hardware which passed with no problems highlighted. I came home and

completed setting up the Ipad. It all seemed ok until back came the random

switching off followed by a reboot again and again and again. This time I

didnot download any previous backups stored on Icloud. This is making me

consider changing to a Samsung Tablet.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

I put vital search information/keywords/tags in the notes section of each of the contacts i store in my iPhone 11 promax. Since I have over 3000 contacts in my address book, it's imperative that in the absence of immediate memory I can find the contact by searching for my meta tags. Now this is all gone I'm unable to do that I'm in the car traveling with the headset on and I can't get these names to pull up. Major bummer.

Running 17.4.1 on pro max 11.
