米南部ノースカロライナ州の男性が米グーグルの提供する地図アプリ「グーグルマップ」の案内に従って自動車を運転したところ、崩落した橋から転落し死亡したとして、遺族が21日までにグーグルを提訴した。男性は他州から引っ越してきたばかりで土地に不案内だった。橋は転落事故の9年前に崩落したまま放置されており、地元住民がグーグルに危険性を訴えていたという。 米メディアなどによると、男性は2022年9月30日夜、9歳の娘の誕生日を祝うパーティー会場から車で帰宅する途中、崩落した橋から車ごと転落し川で溺死した。
