Taking the next step to controlling your space

- We've now explored the roles the six approved gathering points play in your time management. Start using these gathering points from this moment forward. If you haven't done so, pause the course, and decide which gathering points you'll approve using. I recommend having the gathering point selection worksheet on hand. Decide which specific tool you'll use for each. Your physical inbox, your portable inbox, your notepad, either digital or paper, your email inbox, and your messaging app. Then also add a wild card gathering point or two if necessary. All of these gathering points exist for one reason, for you to put things in them. If something's out of place or unresolved, put it in one of these approved gathering points. The next time you're tempted to write a note on the back of an envelope or stuff something in a drawer, pause and instead use one of your gathering points. Right now, you might be wondering how just putting stuff in boxes will help with time management. Please keep going. This is just one piece of a total productivity system. As you progress through this course, you'll see how the pieces fit together, and how this simple habit will help you stay organized and save time.
