Establishing the most valuable activities

- Many people have job descriptions that require them to perform several different activities. No matter the number, only a couple of these activities are truly the most valuable. What do I mean by valuable? I'm talking about work time only, not you time. Being a parent or a friend is priceless. But we can assign a value to work activities. The easiest way to do this is estimate the amount of money that you would pay someone else to perform the same task at similar quality. Your top two work activities that you excel at that would cost you the most per hour to pay someone else to do are your most valuable activities, or MVAs for short. All the other activities that you do are less valuable activities, or LVAs. And if you're like most people, you're likely spending most of your work time in these LVAs. I consistently find the average business leader spends less than 20% of their time in their most valuable activities. This means that they have the capacity to do work that is worth a great deal, but instead, they spend most of their time on activities that are worth less. To excel in your career and make more money for less work hours spent, focus the majority of your time on your most valuable activities. First, I'll help you discover your top two MVAs, then we'll create a time budget so you maximize the time you spend in these MVAs each week.
