Replace a worksheet in a dashboard quickly
- [Instructor] Replacing an existing worksheet element with one that you have available in the sidebar used to take several clicks. However, in more recent versions of Tableau, you're able to do it very quickly. In this movie, I will show you how to swap or exchange one element for another. My sample file is 12_04_Replace, and you can find it in the Chapter 12 folder of the Exercise Files collection. One way to exchange one dashboard element for another is to drag off the element you want to replace. In this case, it could be top five businesses by category and then add another one in. However, there is a quicker way to do that now. All you need to do is click the element that you want to move off of the dashboard. In this case, I did top five businesses by category. Then go over to the sidebar and hover your mouse pointer over the item that you want to move in. In this case, it'll be sales by time or sales over time. So I…
