- [Instructor] There's another way to change the size of an image, and that's when you want to increase the canvas or increase the space in an image so that you can add some more content, or maybe you just want to add a border around an image. In either of those situations, you have to add some space to the canvas. How do you do that? You go up to the Image menu and you choose Canvas Size. So I'd like to have enough space to add another ice cream cone to this image. I figure that might take up maybe 300 to 400 more pixels, looking at the current size and the number of ice cream cones there are there now. So in the Width field, I'm going to type 400. I'll make sure that the Relative checkbox is checked, which tells Photoshop that I want to add those 400 pixels to the current size of the canvas.
