Okay. I hope you had fun experimenting with these population statistics. My solution file for this demo is 02_05_ch02_challenge_solution. First, I want to create a population forecast using Forecast Sheet. If I simply place my mouse in the table and run it, I'm going to get a forecast of GDP per capita, which is not what I want. To get more precision over the input data, I'm going to select the year column, hold down the ctrl key, then select the population column. With this data selected, try Forecast Sheet again, and this time we get the forecasted population. But here's where you need to always be a little skeptical about your results, because I'm seeing on the y-axis that the population forecast is somewhere around 20 million. That doesn't seem right as I would expect an answer in the hundreds rather than tens of millions for the population of an entire continent.
