Sonoma 14.4.1 issues with bluetooth - unable to detect keyboard and mouse at log in

Since updating to Sonoma 14.4.1, my 2018 Mac mini is unable to detect Keyboard (Logitech MX Keys Mini) and Mouse (Logitech mouse) at the point of log in. Even connecting USB C Cable directly to the keyboard did not work. If I am able to log in using another keyboard, these Logitech Keyboard and Mouse are connected and can be use. The issue I have is only at the log in point when I am starting the Mac mini.

The Logitech MX Keys Mini and Mouse work perfectly with iPad and also with another iMac Pro when I went to the Apple Store for help. We had also reinstalled the Bluetooth App and also the OS and issues prevail. The only option I have left is to have Apple Store to re-set my MacMini which will take a 3-5days and I will likely ask for Monterey OS in the end...

Does anyone have similar issues? This is very disappointing.

iMac, macOS 10.13

Sorry but the only Cabling I have found for the Keyboard Keyboard

  • USB-C charging cable (USB-A to USB-C)

Trying to cable the keyboard to computer to make it Function at Log in - seems not possible ?

The Bluetooth Kernel to make a bluetooth connection from keyboard to computer is not actually loading into the computer until the Operating System is fully loaded

Which would require Logging into the computer

That is why I always keep a cheap dedicated USB-A keyboard handy

FYI - there are times when even using an Apple Magic Keyboard ( bluetooth ) and string to boot in Safe Mode - I have to use the USB-A keyboard to log in.

Added is the below Warning from the Manufacture of the keyboard

ATTENTION: FILEVAULT

  • FileVault is an encryption system available on some Mac computers. When enabled, it might prevent Bluetooth devices from connecting with your computer if you have not yet logged in. If you have FileVault enabled, we advise purchasing the compatible Logi Bolt USB Receiver.

Hello PRP_53, I want to let you know that I was able to solve the issue by disabling the FileVault as you advised. It worked and I am so relieved. I had spent more than 4.5hrs with Apple Support personnels both on the phone and at the Store but we could not solve the issue. This is not including the commuting time and the next step left was to surrender my Mac mini for 3-5 days to the Apple Store to have it reset to factory setting to see if that would work.

So grateful to you for taking the trouble to reply and saving me so much hassle and I wish Apple Support can also give you some reward for this. Have a wonderful day!
