Technical support and laboratory strengthening
Providing technical support to implement global policies and to establish and develop regional and national strategies in Member States. Also, enhance capacities for risk mitigation of priority high-threat pathogens, including seasonal and pandemic influenza in WHO’s SEA Region
Strategies, guidance and tools
Contributing to WHO’s role by producing strategies, guidelines, tools and standard operating procedures for risk mitigation of priority high threat pathogens and biological hazards of epidemic and pandemic potential. Also, provide technical support to Member States to prepare for mitigating risks of priority infectious hazards.
Capacity building
Supporting capacity building for risk mitigation of high threat pathogens in Member States. Also, collaborate with other units within WHO’s Health Emergency (WHE) department in areas pertinent to risk mitigation, especially related to laboratory, zoonotic diseases and human -animal interface.
Networks and technical partnerships
Strengthening expert networks by developing strategic partnerships with multi-stakeholders. Also, improve detection, understanding, and managing of new and emerging high threat infectious hazards, assessment of risks and clinical management, infection prevention and laboratory diagnosis.
