Memorial Day is one of the best times to save on big-ticket items outside of Black Friday. And even though the holiday is technically over, some genuine discounts are still available today.

Our year-round price tracking shows that this time can be one of the best moments to shop for mattresses and large appliances. Plus, Amazon, Home Depot, Target, and dozens of other retailers slashed prices on furniture, cookware, TVs, clothes, and shoes to make way for new stock. We also saw Memorial Day markdowns on fitness gear and outdoor equipment, and some retailers are still advertising another day of discounts.

But despite the glut of sales still ongoing, not every advertised discount is worth grabbing.

We’ve scanned thousands of markdowns to find only the best lingering Memorial Day deals on expert-vetted gear you can actually trust, from brands such as Apple, Bissell, LG, and Nike.

Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress (queen, king, and Cal king)

This longtime pick's hybrid tech combines the best components of memory foam and spring mattresses, with over 1,000 springs and four layers of CertiPUR-US–certified memory foam. Whether you’re a stomach-, back-, or side-sleeper, it’s sure to please.

Buying Options

$1,399 from Leesa
(queen)

25% off MSRP all sizes w/WIRECUTTER25

Other things to know: 11-inch mattress. 100-day trial period. 10-year warranty. Promo code WIRECUTTER works on queen, king, and Cal king sizes. Comes with a free sheet set and two pillows—a nice add-on, but we haven’t tested either.

Saatva Classic Luxury Firm mattress (queen)

Featuring classic innerspring bounce paired with a cushy but understated 3-inch Euro top, the most affordable innerspring mattress we’ve found still looks and feels luxurious. If you prefer to nestle into your mattress, as opposed to feeling engulfed, this is the one for you.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Doesn’t have the best motion isolation. Comes in thicknesses of 11.5 and 14.5 inches, and you have 365 nights to try it. Discount available in all sizes but twin. We recommend the Luxury Firm comfort level but also like the Plush Soft version for a more pillowy feel.

WinkBed (Luxury Firm, queen)

A quilted cover, pocketed coils, and a foamy top give this bed a pleasingly hefty hybrid feel. The billowy yet substantial feel was a crowd-pleaser during testing.

Other things to know: Works for side-sleepers who rotate positions frequently, as well as back- and stomach-sleepers—or those who simply prefer a firmer mattress. Use code WCMEMORIALDAY24. Stated deal price is for the queen Luxury Firm mattress, but code applies to all sizes.

Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid Mattress (queen, king, and Cal king)

Offering medium firmness with some motion isolation, this springier hybrid’s quilted top loosely cradles your body, while more than 3,000 pocketed coils keep you buoyant. The fluffy and luxurious feel is ideal for back- and side-sleepers—one tester said they “felt like royalty.”

Other things to know: Not ultra-soft or plush. May not be ideal for stomach-sleepers. Durable enough for those weighing over 200 pounds. 10-year warranty. 100-night trial, but you can return only one time. Use code WIRECUTTER. Discount available on queen, king, and Cal king sizes. Comes with a free sheet set and two pillows—a nice add-on, but we haven’t tested either.

A Tuft & Needle Wood Frame with a bed, pillows and blanket on it.
Photo: Tuft & Needle

Tuft & Needle Wood Frame (queen)

Classically handsome with clean lines and a particularly sturdy hardwood construction, this bed is great if you appreciate mid-century design. Our testers especially liked how the 7 inches of under-bed clearance allowed for easy storage. It also has an impressive 12-year warranty.

Other things to know: In a few online reviews, buyers complained of creaking. The slats are spaced 3 inches apart, but each slat is 10 inches wide. Use code WC25 to take 25% off all sizes.

Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set (queen)

Great for hot sleepers, the cool, breathable percale weave of these sheets feels light and crisp against the skin. But this set offers more than a variety of colors and a rotating selection of hip prints—its long-staple cotton construction can endure years of washes and wear.

Other things to know: Oeko-Tex certified. Set includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. 365-day return policy. Use code WIRECUTTERMEMORIALDAY.

Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter (full/queen)

With a baffle-box construction and 700-fill-power duck down, our experts found this to be a high-quality comforter. It’s easy to wash, doesn’t slide off the bed, and keeps its loft, even after being in storage.

Other things to know: The down leaks over time but does so less overall in comparison with most comforters we’ve tested. One-year return policy. Two-year warranty. Deal price is for the full/queen all-season weight. Use code WIRECUTTERMEMORIALDAY.

Brooklinen Classic Duvet Cover (full/queen)

Soft, comfortable percale fabric gives this duvet cover a luxurious hotel-bedding feel, without the luxury-hotel price. It’s one of the least expensive covers we've tried, and it offers the most stylish and interesting variety of prints we’ve seen.

Other things to know: Can get a bit wrinkled. After years of long-term testing, we’re still impressed with this cover’s overall construction. Use code WIRECUTTERMEMORIALDAY. Listed deal price is for full/queen, but the code takes 25% off all sizes.

L.L.Bean 280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet Set (queen)

With a durable construction that only gets softer with each wash, these supple sheets have ranked among our favorites for years. They remain the most crisp and breathable percale sheets we’ve tested.

Other things to know: Includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. Listed deal is for the queen set, but all sets are discounted with code WCSLEEP15. Available in a variety of colors. One-year return policy.

L.L.Bean 280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet Set (queen)

These printed sheets have the same breathable fabric and durable quality of our favorite percale set, but with a bit more pizzazz. The muted colors, soft lines, and simple shapes are more classic than modern—but considering they last for years and years, that’s not a drawback.

Other things to know: Includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. Stated deal is for the queen size, but all sets are discounted with code WCSLEEP15. Deal available in a couple of different printed styles. One-year return policy.

L.L.Bean 280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Comforter Cover (queen)

Kids, pets, frequent washes—you name it, this 100% Supima cotton duvet cover can survive it. The cover feels crisp and cool to sleep under and barely wrinkles out of the dryer. Plus, it’s made from the same high-quality fabric as our favorite percale sheets.

Other things to know: Listed deal is for the queen size, but all sets are discounted with code WCSLEEP15. Comes in a variety of colors and prints. One-year return policy.

Cultiver Linen Sheet Set (queen)

Great for hot sleepers, our longtime favorite linen sheet set is durable, breathable, and one of the softest we’ve tested. The set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases, but you can also purchase by the piece.

Other things to know: Like any linen sheets, these wrinkle easily. More limited sizing than from other brands. No warranty and a pretty standard 30-day return policy. Stated deal price is for the queen size, but code WIRECUTTER20 takes 20% off all sizes.

Cultiver Linen Duvet Cover (queen)

By far the softest we’ve tested, this linen duvet cover has a breathable rustic texture that adds a pleasantly rumpled look to any bed. Its strong, neat stitching holds up in the wash, and we’ve experienced no pilling, thinning, or construction breakdowns.

Other things to know: Swatches are available if you’re unsure of color or texture. Listed deal price is for the queen size, but all sizes are on sale with code WIRECUTTER20. Doesn’t quite match previous lows, but the street price has increased over the past year.

Riley Percale Sheet Set (queen set, fitted sheet and two pillowcases)

When one of our senior editors tried this sheet set, they marveled at the organic percale fabric’s crisp, “almost papery” texture. Not only do they come in modern colors and prints, but they also feel nice right out of the package—and even better after a few washes.

Other things to know: A former upgrade pick that we still like when it’s in stock. Felt stiffer and more wrinkly during our 2023 tests. Oeko-Tex certified. Listed deal price is for the queen set, which includes just a fitted sheet and two standard pillowcases (adding a flat sheet is optional). Coupon code WCMEMDAY works for all sizes. Street price has increased recently.

Riley Percale Duvet Cover (full/queen)

If you want a percale duvet cover that’s especially crisp, you may like this lightweight but sturdy cotton cover. It’s available in more than a dozen colors and doesn’t add too much bulk to a comforter.

Other things to know: A former pick, but when we retested the percale sheets (made from the same material) in 2023, we found them to be a lot more stiff and wrinkly. Manufacturer advises washing before use. Deal price is for the full/queen size. Use code WCMEMDAY.

Nest Bedding Easy Breather Pillow (standard)

A longtime favorite among our experts and readers. This pillow’s moldable, customizable shredded-foam filling provides firm, comfortable support for back- and side-sleepers. And it doesn’t have a lingering chemical smell like some other shredded-foam pillows we’ve tried.

Other things to know: Redesigned in 2021 with a softer, cooler cover, and the shredded foam is now encased in its own washable inner pouch. Two-year warranty. Use code WCMD24 to get the deal price and free shipping. Deal is for the standard size.

Ecosa Pillow

If you’re a back- or side-sleeper who suffers from neck, shoulder, or arm pain, this just might be the firm-yet-squishy pillow of your dreams. Thanks to a curved, height-adjustable design, it can provide targeted neck support for most body types.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Pricier than some of our other picks. Comes with two sheets of extra foam that you can add to the bottom (inside the cover) to adjust its height. 100-night return policy. Matches the lowest price we’ve seen when you use code WIRECUTTER.

LilySilk 25 Momme Oxford Envelope Luxury Pillowcase (standard size, add two)

Warmer weather doesn’t necessarily mean smoother hair. Our writers consider these silk pillowcases to be the holy grail for protecting curly or potentially frizzy locks. They feel decadently lustrous and weighty right out of the box, but our testers liked them even more after the first wash.

Buying Options

Other things to know: 25 momme (mm) count indicates a good weight of silk, while 6A rating indicates good strand length. Add two standard-size pillowcases to cart and use code WIRECUTTER1 to get the $88 deal price. You can also get two queen-size pillowcases for $103 with code WIRECUTTER2 and two king-size pillowcases for $116 with code WIRECUTTER3.

Riley Four-Layer Throw

When it’s too sweltering to sleep under a comforter, this airy cotton blanket just might do the trick. It’s one of the lightest throws we recommend, with a pleasant crinkly texture that feels cool on the skin.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Listed size is 70 by 50 inches, but our test sample measured 78 by 58 inches out of the package. Use code WCMEMDAY to get the deal price.

Baloo Weighted Blanket (queen, 15 pounds)

Wrap yourself up in the comforting embrace of this well-balanced and crisp weighted blanket, which feels like a cross between a quilt and a comforter. With sturdy, close stitching, it has an overall better quality than similarly affordable options, and it can even go in the washer and dryer.

Other things to know: The cotton batting prevents the weight from enveloping you as closely as blankets without such filler. Compared with knit-style options, it can feel less breathable and even hot. Lifetime guarantee on materials and workmanship. Deal price listed is for the full/queen size, but the 12-pound twin and 20-pound queen options are also on sale.

Someone in a Brooklinen Waffle Robe.
Photo: Marki Williams

Brooklinen Waffle Robe

Terry robes can be a bit stifling in the summer heat. Enter this soft, spongy honeycomb-texture robe, which feels thick and warm, yet lightweight and breathable. Perfect for an at-home spa day, it’s the most luxurious and generously sized robe we tested.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Not as plush as a terry robe. Arms can be overly long but can be rolled up or hemmed. Brooklinen phased out the previous model of this robe in late 2023; the newly released updated version has a flat, kimono-style collar instead of a shawl collar. Use code WIRECUTTERMEMORIALDAY.

Harper Wilde Bliss Triangle Bralette

Compared to our pick, this bralette has adjustable straps and a deeper V-shape that defines and separates breasts better. But otherwise, its wire-free pull-on design and medium support are identical. The smooth, stretchy material gently hugs the skin, while the plunging neckline and back look flattering under a variety of tops.

Other things to know: We're currently testing this style and so far like it as much as, if not more than, our pick. Available in sizes XS to 6XL. Higher front for sizes L-6XL. Band isn't adjustable. Select color and sizes on sale. Use code FREESHIP.

Eyebuydirect blue-light-lens glasses 35% off with free shipping

Offering both prescription and non-prescription blue-light-blocking glasses, Eyebuydirect has a wide selection of frames and glasses and is the only glasses seller we recommend with two size options. The products are consistently high in quality, and the customer service is reliable.

Buying Options

Other things to know: 14-day return policy. Eyebuydirect offers four tiers of blue-light-filtering lens enhancements starting at $19. Pair with the frames of your choice and use code WIRECUTTER35 for 35% off nearly all lenses, plus free shipping (some exclusions apply).

Reebok Club C 85 Vintage Shoes (unisex, white)

Serving up a preppy-chic 1980s sports-club aesthetic, the unfussy, low-cut silhouette of these leather sneakers embodies old-school cool. Their sturdy foam insoles will support your feet for miles.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Design lacks the off-white coloring and terry lining of our top pick, and the leather isn’t quite as soft. Little arch support. Shoes run true to size but notably narrow—we recommend that people with wider feet go up half a size. Not as plush as our Nike picks. On sale in limited colors.

Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage sneakers (men’s)

A sleek leather upper and suede detailing give these versatile mid-height sneakers a vintage vibe that’s reminiscent of classic 1970s-style basketball high-tops. They’re chic, sturdy, and oh-so-comfortable, with a solid-rubber sole that provides strong foot support and traction.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Sign in with a free Dick’s ScoreCard account for free shipping. Deal price is on the white/brown version.

Nike Air Force 1 ’07 (low top, women’s)

The crisp upper. The bright white. The striking lines. This is our streetwear and sneakerhead staple pick in our guide to the best white sneakers. These shoes are particularly comfortable—especially when you’re sprinting through an airport to make a connecting flight.

Other things to know: Style might seem bulky if you prefer slim shoes. Most sizes are on sale in the bronze brown trim. Ships free with Dick’s ScoreCard membership (free to join).

Nisolo Women’s Huarache Sandals

Perfect for transitioning from spring to summer, these elegant, handwoven leather sandals mold to your feet after just a few wears, while their padded, cushioned midsoles provide great arch support. Nisolo is also a certified B Corp brand, meaning it meets high social and environmental standards.

Other things to know: A little pricier than some of our other picks, but we think they’re worth it for their high quality and sophisticated design. Price compares favorably to what we’ve posted in the past. On sale in limited colors. Use code RMN20. Price includes shipping.

We’ve seen it drop as low as $500 during Cyber Week, but the last time we posted a deal at that price was 2022. Home Depot also offers free assembly in-store or delivered pre-assembled (a store associate will call you to schedule delivery).

Beef up your grilling game without breaking the bank. This simple, entry-level pellet grill is an older-gen model, but compared with our newer-gen top pick, it’s notably less expensive and comes with two temperature probes.

Other things to know: Large footprint. Our research shows GE has a better customer-service record than LG. Deal price in cart includes $18 fee for required parts with free installation. Energy Star–certified.

LG LRFLC2706S French-door refrigerator

Offering a strong marriage of capacity and design for a reasonable price, this French-door fridge would make a welcome addition to any kitchen. Its well-rounded and good-looking design includes a sensor-activated water dispenser inside the door and an ice maker in the freezer.

Other things to know: 26.5-cubic-foot capacity. Doesn’t sit fully flush with counters or cabinets, but door design makes it look like it does. LG consistently ranks at the top for customer satisfaction, but our surveys suggested it’s not as strong in that regard as some competitors. Price includes delivery and necessary parts.

Maytag MDB8959SKZ dishwasher

Tired of having to dry your dishes after running them through the dishwasher? This model cleans almost as well as our top pick, but unlike most, it thoroughly dries even plastic dishware. Couple that with well-designed, adjustable racks and an efficient filter, and you just might find dish duty to be less of a chore.

Other things to know: Heated-dry cycles run long. Racks are less user-friendly than those of our other picks and lack stemware holders. Manufactured by Whirlpool, which is known for its reliability and easily replaceable parts. Available in select finishes. Pickup is free; delivery is $29. Basic parts and installation services are extra. Deal price reflects in cart.

This chic and compact reading light boasts the most light customization of all our picks and works with both paperback and hardcover books. It’s also a breeze to use and adjust, with a slim clip and a power indicator to monitor battery life.

Other things to know: Small. Buttons can be a bit too sensitive when you’re adjusting clip placement. Use code WCMEMDAY. Just a couple of bucks shy of the lowest price we’ve seen.

Glocusent LED Neck Reading Light

Bright and easy to use, this reading light never felt heavy or uncomfortable on our necks during our tests. The adjustable arms illuminate the pages of your book at the precise angle you want, making it a great alternative if you don’t want to fuss with a traditional clip-on light.

Other things to know: Fewer brightness and temperature settings than on our bookmark-style pick, but removes the need to adjust a clip-on reading light. Use code WCNECKLIGHT.

Apple MacBook Air (M3, 2024, 13″, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD)

Thanks to a speedy M3 processor, this latest-gen MacBook Air is about 20% faster than our pick and brings a suite of enhancements to the chip’s GPU and AI processing power. In fact, our experts plan to make it a pick when Apple stops selling the M2-equipped model.

Other things to know: The cheaper M2 MacBook Air is enough for most people. Specs include 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. Deal price is on Space Gray and Midnight colors.

Photo: Connie Park

Yeti Crossroads 22″/35L Wheeled Luggage

A polycarbonate back, easy-to-repair parts, and a rugged two-wheel design make this carry-on ideal for rougher travel over difficult surfaces. During our tests, the tray-like layout was well organized and a pleasure to pack.

Other things to know: Somewhat unwieldy to handle. Weather-resistant, not waterproof. Front-facing laptop organizer is unshielded. Limited three-year warranty. Deal price is for seasonal camp green color.

Monos Hybrid Trunk

With a robust polycarbonate outer shell, aluminum corner guards, and an aluminum frame around the center seam that reinforces the body of the luggage, this isn’t just a trunk—it’s a traveling fortress. And speaking of safety, it also has two TSA locks, which close with a satisfying latch.

Buying Options

Other things to know: Due to the design, some travelers consider trunks to be easier to pack and to maneuver. Does away with the standard zipper closure. Doesn’t have a ton of built-in organization. Lifetime warranty. Use code MEMORIAL.
