Using Fill Layers to create a hand-painted look

- [Instructor] Color and gradient fill layers are an excellent way to create hand colored looks in an image. And while we could use the neural filter to colorize an image, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate the process, if we want to be more accurate, we can use selections and fill layers to select areas and then fill them with color to get the exact results that we want. In this case, I want to select the walnuts in the foreground. I could do this loosely with the lasso tool or we could select the object selection tool, use the lasso tool to create a loose selection and then Photoshop will shrink wrap that selection to the objects that it finds. We can always add a feather to this in a moment if we want to loosen that selection. So to add a solid color fill layer, I can either choose the layer menu and then select new fill layer and solid color. And the benefit of doing it…
