Setting up Adobe Illustrator

- Once your wireframe is ready and approved by all stakeholders, it's time to get to work designing your infographic. And it's easy to hit the ground running when you've already built your wireframe in Adobe Illustrator. Since 90% of infographics exist online, you're likely going to be setting up your design for digital viewing. This means that your design should be set up as RGB 72 DPI and 1,000 pixels wide. If designing for print, set your project up as CMYK and 300 DPI. Next, choose the print dimensions that you need to use, like 8 1/2 by 11, or 11 by 17, or something a little less standard. Also, be sure to set up a document bleed. This will ensure that any colors that you use can go right to the edge of a printed page rather than being cut off. A typical bleed is a quarter of an inch.
