- There's no one perfect style of a meeting. In fact, it's a good idea to mix things up a bit. Use a variety of meeting styles to help your group achieve its desired results. There are dozens of ways to categorize meetings. So to keep it simple, I prefer to group them according to how often you meet. For example, daily, weekly, or monthly/yearly. As we walk through these types of meetings, keep in mind, people need to get work done, and they ideally should do their most valuable work when they're most focused and energized. So talk with team members about which times of day and days of the week they're most focused, and avoid putting meetings right in the middle of that time. Also keep in mind that all these meeting types can be held in person, online, via phone, or a combination of those.
