Choosing a template

- [Instructor] Once you're logged in and you've opened up ArcGIS Pro, you're prompted to start a new project. Now, there's four kinds of projects to start with. You've got a 2D map, so these are two dimensional maps with just X and Y, lines, points, polygons, raster, and so on. Or you could use a catalog. A catalog is for managing files, databases, and so on. There's no graphics per se. It's just about data management and metadata management. There's a global scene, which is a 3D map that looks at the whole world or down to country or even state or province, or if you have a more large scale project you're working on, a particular building or neighborhood, use a 3D local scene. So the two scenes are 3D, the map is 2D, and the catalog is mainly for data management. Now, the nice thing is, doesn't matter what type of project you start, you can add others to the project.
