Grown-ups

Watch the video for instructions of how to make a Father Christmas advent calendar, this version of an advent calendar doesn't have chocolate or treats but still builds excitement to Christmas Day. Each day add a cotton wool ball to the beard covering the number using glue or sticky tape. When his beard is full it is Christmas day!

What is Advent?

Advent is an important part of the Christian calendar. It means 'coming' and it's the period before Christmas which celebrates the birth of Jesus. It is all about preparing for Christmas Day. Advent starts on the Sunday nearest to 30th November - four weekend's before Christmas.

So in 2023, it actually started on Sunday 3rd December and will be observed until Friday 24th December.
