Shopping on apple.com lets you take advantage of exclusive features such as iPad engraving, Mac customisation and Certified Refurbished Products.

Engrave Your iPad or Air Tags, or Apple Pencil

Make it your own — or a gift they’ll never forget — with free laser engraving. You can add a message to any new iPad, AirPods, AirTag or Apple Pencil (2nd generation). This option is available online and through the Apple Store App, and is not offered on refurbished products.

After you select an eligible product, you’ll see an option to Add Engraving. Type in text and choose emojis to craft your own special message. You’ll see a preview of the engraving as you enter it. Then Save it and Add to Bag.

You may be able to make changes to the engraved text or cancel your item if online Order Status indicates that it has “Not yet shipped”. See the Viewing & Changing Orders section of Shopping Help for details or go directly to online Order Status. You may wish to review our Sales and Refunds Policy.

Please note that we are unable to customise refurbished Mac computers.

Hardware Options

You have several options to build the system that is right for you. After you choose the model you want, you can configure, for example:

  • Processor
  • Memory
  • Graphics card
  • Storage type and capacity
  • Keyboard and mouse

Software Options

When you receive your Mac, you’ll find your preinstalled software on the second page of Launchpad and in your Applications folder.

Please note that a CD or DVD for your pre-installed software is not included. For support with your pre-installed Apple apps, visit https://support.apple.com/apps.

How to Customise

  1. Select the Mac notebook or desktop computer you want.
  2. On the Customise page, select the configuration options you’d like.
  3. When you are finished building your Mac, click the Add to Bag button.

The dollar amount that will be added to or subtracted from your subtotal is listed next to each option. The subtotal, shipping time frame and specifications summary at the top right corner of the screen will update as you choose options.

Buy a Certified Refurbished Product

Apple is the exclusive provider of Apple Certified Refurbished Products and Clearance Items.

Refurbished Products

Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that have undergone a rigorous refurbishment process before being offered for sale. We back these products with our standard one-year limited warranty. For extended coverage, you have the option of purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan with any Apple Certified Refurbished Mac, iPhone, Watch, iPad or iPod touch.

Refurbishment Process

Each Apple Certified Refurbished Product:

  • undergoes full functionality testing and any defective modules identified in testing are replaced.
  • Apple Watch and Apple Pencil devices that require replacement parts are not included in the Apple Certified Refurbished Programme.
  • is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
  • is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes).
  • includes either the Operating System originally shipped with the unit or, in some cases, a more recent version.
  • is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock.

Refurbishment procedures follow the same basic technical guidelines as Apple’s Finished Goods testing procedures.

Policies for Refurbished and Clearance Items:

  • Sales to End Users Only

    Refurbished products available on apple.com are sold and shipped to end-user customers only.
  • Sales and Refunds Policy

    Apple’s standard applies to all Certified Refurbished Products and Clearance Items. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call Apple Support to request a return within 14 calendar days of when you receive the item.
  • Defective Items

    If you discover what you believe is a defect for an Apple-branded product, please contact an AppleCare Advisor at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273). If you discover what you believe is a defect for any third-party product, please contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • No Engraving

    Engraving is not offered on refurbished products.
