You can organize your inbox with filters in Google Messages. After you click the search box at the top of the app, filter options are viewable. Filter options can be used for all message types, including text and multimedia messaging, and Rich Communication Services (RCS).

To organize your inbox, you can filter your messages through:
- Unread
- Known and Unknown
- Senders are considered Known if they are saved in your Contacts.
- Starred
- SIM 1 and SIM 2
- If you have a dual SIM set up on your phone, these filters show up.
- The filters allow you to view messages sent to a specific SIM card.
- Images
- The message has an image file attached.
- Videos
- The message has a video.
