"I've had a great experience learning with Reinilton. He has a great demeanor and shares a lot of similar interests which makes his lessons fun and engaging. I recently joined Preply after wanting to improve my Portuguese speaking and listening skills. For context, I consider myself an intermediate beginner that has taken various Pimsleur and Duolingo courses before joining Preply. I found myself at an intermediate stage where I could get by when traveling to Brazil but I wasn't learning useful expressions anymore using other tools. I found it hard to improve since I wasn't motivated to do grammar exercises, but I didn't have the vocabulary and listening skills to understand Portuguese videos or otherwise increase my immersion yet. Reinilton has a teaching style that involves sharing content that is relevant to each student's interests and then discussing it. In my case, he sent me a YouTuber from my family's region in Brazil who critiques movies so I could improve my listening skills in my target accent while still understanding the content of the videos through contextual clues. He often asks me to explain my reactions to the content in Portuguese and then uses the whiteboard tool to write down any mistakes or gaps in my speaking. He then adds to a Google Doc which has all of the words we have learned so far. I found this doc to be a great reference to have everything in once place. In just 6 lessons, we have already build a 10 page document with vocabulary words, expressions, and common mistakes from our lessons. Since the vocab words are from our actual conversations, every word feels more useful than the typical Duolingo lesson. Overall, Reinilton is a great tutor if you're looking for a relaxed learning environment where you can feel free to speak and improve your Portuguese while still having fun. I'd recommend him to anyone looking to learn and improve their Portuguese. I personally will be continuing my lessons with him and look forward to continuing to progress toward my goals. "
