We did some research on VGK faceoff draws and found out the team fell from the top 10 this past season and it could have been a reason why the team was the last team in the playoffs in the West. VGK ranked 9th in the Cup season and 18th this season dropping from 52% wins to 50%. We brought up our show from the start of last season in which Bruce Cassidy said the Golden Knights' Jack Eichel needed to improve on faceoff wins by 5%. Cassidy said Eichel needed to win 50% of his draws. He only improved from 45.3% to 45.5%. William Karlsson had the team lead at 56%. We talk about coaching changes in the Pacific Division during the offseason. And, we talk about the NHL Playoffs.

In a published report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Jonathan Marchessault, VGK's prized free agent, to the paper that he hasn't heard from the Golden Knights and that the team didn't want to negotiate a new deal before the start of the past season. We have to ask if any negotiations with Marchessault would be through media reports. Kelly McCrimmon said last month that he wouldn't be discussing any updates in talks between the two sides. McCrimmon also said he had been actively in talks with Marchessault's agent, Pat Brisson. We also look at the track record of VGK free agents that have left the organization. And, we update the NHL playoffs.

The Daily Faceoff released salary projections for the top 75 NHL free agents. Jonathan Marchessault, the soon-to-be VGK free agent was ranked 6th on the list. What was surprising to us, was that analytical projection of $6.25-million over a three year term. We thought he would command somewhere between $7-8 million. We also look at other VGK free agents and their salary projections. And we look at other free agents on the list and who would fit in with the Golden Knights.
