The 44-year-old actor’s memoir, An American Story: Everyone’s Invited, will be published by Harper Select on Sept. 17. The book will share Valderrama's humble beginnings, his journey to the United States as a young immigrant and how he forged a successful career in acting and philanthropic work. “As a little boy growing up in Venezuela, I never thought I would write a book, let alone be able to fill it with such complex and triumphant stories about a 25-year career in entertainment, philanthropy and everything in between,” Valderrama said in a statement. Valderrama's memoir 'An American Story: Everyone's Invited' comes out on Sept. 17. This is my tribute to the country that gave me a shot. This is for all of us.” Valderrama was born in Miami and moved with his family to Venezuela at age 3. The family relocated to Los Angeles during the unrest in Venezuela during the rise of former Venezuelan president and military officer, Hugo Chavez. In California, Valderrama discovered his passion for acting, which he realized could also serve as a means to support his family. He eventually landed his now-iconic role of Fez in That ‘70s Show, setting him on his successful acting career path.
