Could 'The Masked Singer' 's Alien Be Nicole or Sofia Richie?

The celebrity panelists are scratching their heads about the alien's identity

The Masked Singer is keeping audiences and its celebrity panelists guessing.

On Wednesday’s episode of the Fox reality competition series, the six remaining masked celebrities will merge together into one group — and will remain one unit up until the finale.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the episode, celebrity panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong are joined by Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s J.B. Smoove to guess the entertainer behind the alien costume.

“Let’s go through what we know. She fell off a runway, so a model possibly,” McCarthy says. “She brought out a badge where she protects. Maybe she guards her family. She’s very protective of her family because her family is famous.”

“There were also some references to The Simple Life: ‘That’s hot’ and some of that stuff,” Thicke adds.

The panelists appear to be in unison about thinking that the woman behind the mask could be either The Simple Life star Nicole Richie or her younger sister Sofia Richie.

“I still think Nicole Richie,” McCarthy says.

Jeong agrees: “Possible, or Sofia Richie.”

“That’s a good one,” Smoove says.

The Masked Singer is a singing show in which celebrities compete against one another in costume.

The mystery stars compete two at a time, with the audience and judging panel voting on who the winner of each matchup is.

Although the celebrities get to use their real voices while singing, during pre-taped interview clips (which feature hints about their identities), their voices have been distorted.

At the end of every episode, the losing celebrity’s identity is finally revealed.

Last month, Fox announced that The Masked Singer is getting a second season. Since its premiere in early January, the series has shot to the top of the ratings list, quickly becoming the network’s most-watched unscripted series.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
