All those anti-porn sentiments I’ve seen are only empowering lawmakers to go ahead with government surveillance and censorship. It’s all a Trojan Horse for stopping people from feeling safe.

It mostly focused on “protecting the children” when you know those kids will find a way to view porn on different sites or the same sites using a VPN. It has nothing to do with protecting and keeping kids safe, it’s only about control and surveillance. Look at the recent social media companies having to go to Washington DC and have a hearing focused exclusively on why they’re not protecting kids enough. People old enough to be my great uncle are harping on these social media CEOs and saying how “they should be protecting the kids more” while parents of said kids are standing behind them looking smug. One of these parents straight up said “my 11 year old daughter is addicted to Snapchat”. Why the hell is someone who’s 11 is on Snapchat to begin with?

If current copyright laws would not be as screwed up and slanted towards copyright holders to the point fans and end-users get the short end of the stick, I'd support Generative AI Disclosure Act at least in some extent.

It's less controversial and more obscure but I feel like Scottie Ray, voice of the Utrom Shredder in TMNT 2003 could do a good job voicing Vilgax

Like I could see his Shredder voice fitting Vilgax.

I feel like the Fallout series got Flanderized over time. It's especially noticeable with 4 and 76.

Cold ahh take, even the people that play and enjoy the newer games seem to agree, or that has been my experience

Damn have to step up my game.

There's a lot of shows out there now with 50 minute episodes who's plotlines could be covered in 20 minutes.

I'm annoyed at how many shows have sex scenes now, the vast majority don't add anything.

Space: Above and Beyond is boring, at one point i accidentally skipped 10 episodes and barely noticed at first, then when i went back to watch the episodes i missed i felt like everything that happened in them could've been covered in 2.5 episodes tops.

I'm sure one of those is a hot take

Damn still 3 upvotes, how about this one?

The thing about New Vegas is that it came together despite of it's writers. The more i learn about Sawyer and Avellone's ideas about where they wanted to take the series the more i think they're kind of shitheads. I don't think i like New Vegas as much as i used to.

This sounds like something from a jaded tf2 fan but the #saveTF2 movement is not gonna save the game magically. Valve is more interested in games that they’ll see as profitable and as it currently stands, TF2 isn’t as profitable as some of the other Valve titles. Plus there’s a subset of players who have been demanding a key sale protest to show they mean business. That will only result in valve realizing “oh yeah the game truly is dead, shut the servers down”.

Although fortnite is a good game fundamentally, my main gripe with it is that each battle pass/season has a sense of missing out/fomo. Look at last season, 2 characters no one expected to be added in was Peter Griffin and Solid Snake. Hell look at a couple years ago season wise and Spider-Man was advertised as a T100 skin you can unlock and play as. Literally every ad for that season kept reiterating “you can even play as Spider-Man”. Then there’s skins for characters that are considered important to the games story like Peely, you can’t even unlock base Peely anymore and need to buy the different Peely skins that show up periodically in the item shop. If Epic Games allowed for older battle passes to be unlocked or added in as bonuses for current battle passes, they’d make a lot of money and reduce the fear of missing out for so many.

Also the other major gripe I have with Fortnite is why they keep screwing over skins in surveys. Seriously look at the Aphrodite and Medusa survey designs to their final designs. They butchered Medusa and screwed base Aphrodite over.

Most people here who talk about geopolitics really don't know anything about geopolitics.

Not just here, probably the Internet as a whole.

I've been diving down the Russo-Ukraine war rabbit hole recently to get a better understanding and the amount of propaganda and misinformation from all sides is astonishing. The more I try to learn about the conflict to form an unbiased opinion, the more I realize it's kind of impossible. At the very least you can start seeing through the blatantly false but easily digestible narratives most commentators and the media love to push.

I actually preferred the way Mass Effect's guns worked in the first game and i will never forgive Bioware for introducing thermal clips. Though one better way to have done it would be something like what the laser guns from Helldivers have.

Made the game flow feel more limited tbh.

Speaking of Mass Effect, I didn't really care for any of the romance options in the games. I didn't like any of them enough to want to pursue, plus, I thought it was inappropriate for a commanding officer to sleep with their subordinates while on duty.

My Shepard remained a pure boy and without any distraction from the Reaper threat.

Since we're talking about Bioware, isn't Dragon Age as a series sort of….bad?

Origins is generally considered good. A well done game & strong start.

DA2 was rushed and it shows. Granted, I think there's a lot of good in it personally but it seems to be considered weakest of the series and controversial.

The general impression I've gotten from Inquisition is that its mid. But I haven't played the game nor paid too much attention to the community.

My biggest complaint about Mass Effect is that the romance options available to FemShep are overall pretty bad compared to MaleShep. Kaidan sucks, Jacob sucks even more and Thane is terminally ill so you know from the start it's not going to end well. I liked Samantha, but she's a secondary NPC who doesn't appear until the third game so she doesn't get as much character development. Andromeda had a similar problem with Suvi, but all characters lack development in that game.

Also that the character creator in the original trilogy is too limited. I can forgive a lot of jankiness from a game of that age, but it just won't let you make a male Shepard that didn't fell down the ugly tree and hit most branches along the way.

Never played the games, but I'm aware about 2's infamy for getting a blatant shill review by PC Gamer to everyone's chagrin.

Looks like Dragon Age is one of those awkward franchise held up by a phenomenal entry and progressively weaker sequels. Reminiscent of FEAR and Crackdown games.

Yo-kai Watch is the Pokemon game that Pokemon fans wanted for years, but will never get the recognition it deserves because it’s not Pokemon.
Like seriously, Look at the competitive Yo-kai meta and compare that to Pokemon. It’s night and day. Yo-kai managed to balance the game’s roster so that every mon is viable in their own merit, while in Pokemon really feels like there’s no quality control to into nerfing really broken mons and really terrible mons and it’ll took them generations until they’ll try to fix them.

I’m not fond of Soriel fans. None at all. For both making Asgore an extreme case of Ron the Deatheater I’ve ever witness from a fandom back then (and still to this day in some areas). And for making Toriel a complete bitch for the sake of their OTP. despite the fact that Toriels resentment towards Asgore from the games is always portray as well kept to herself, in contrast to Asgore’s impulsiveness that lead his emotions into worser situation in the story.
And This is coming from someone who likes both of them for their own nuances in Undertale.
