Apple Watch battery draining fast

My Apple 9 watch was at 100% today and 5 hours later the battery was at zero. The watch is 4 months old.

My Apple Watch series 9 has burned through the battery today whilst I’ve been out. Was at 100% at 7:30am and by 5:46pm it’s on 1%.

I’ve noticed in the Apple Watch app log there is a JetsamEvent logged for today. But obviously I can’t make any sense of it.

Mine has just started to do this too just today weirdly. Trying to apply the new update to my watch but gets stuck on 'Preparing...'

Must be due to a botched update if there's this many of us with the issue suddenly. I've factory reset and restored my series 9 earlier today and, so far, the drain issue seems to be fixed. Give it a try.

Ridiculous we are expected to try all this trouble shooting and trial and error and switching off features. Is it too much for Apple Watch to just work as the product is sold to us??

I’m done with Apple Watch for good. Going out to buy a Garmin and avoid all this time wasting.

This is crazy that I'm not the only one experiencing this. I got my watch at the end of September. My watch was charged before I went to bed, and by the time I woke up, it was dead. I charged it again to 100% while at work, and by the time 2pm, it was down to 10%. I do not have any background apps on. What needs to be done?

Running into the same issue with my Series 9. Mine started doing that all of a sudden yesterday. Never had any battery issues prior. Unsure how to fix it. Tried unpairing and restoring from a backup and it did not fix the issue.

Mine started draining again, so I’m guessing there has been another update. I don’t know what’s causing the drain this time. Super frustrating.

I mean I don't know what the heck is going on but I got the Apple watch series 9 5 month ago it's the new one so it sholdn't be draining fast because it's the newest one and has the update

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

Exact same issue. My watch was at 100% at 6:00 this morning. Drained to 24% by 11 AM.

Update is stuck in preparing mode.

Yes. The only thing that really works is to erase, unpair then pair again.

Troublesome but the only method that works.

I’ve unpaired, repaired and still having the battery issues and it won’t update, just sits on preparing

so frustrating
