We are excited to announce the launch of IMDb Meters Timeseries, providing complete historical ranking data derived from the IMDb global audience of over 250 million monthly visitors. The offering includes two bulk datasets:

  • TITLEmeter Timeseries: Complete ranking histories for 150,000+ titles on IMDb. Each of the included titles has or is currently ranked within the top 5,000 TITLEmeter, MOVIEmeter, or TVmeter chart as far back as 1998 (TITLEmeter) or 2015 (MOVIEmeter and TVmeter).
  • STARmeter Timeseries: Complete ranking histories for 40,000+ entertainment professionals on IMDb. Each of the included names has or is currently ranked within the top 5,000 STARmeter chart as far back as 1998.
Weekly snapshots of the rankings above are also available to support quick lookups.

Both datasets are available as add-ons to existing IMDb core data packages through AWS Data Exchange. For evaluation access, please email imdb-licensing-support@imdb.com.

We are excited to announce the launch of IMDb GEOmeters, an extension of our IMDb Meters offering, to provide location-specific rankings of the most popular titles and entertainment professionals on IMDb. The rankings are derived from the interactions of IMDb's global audience of over 250 million monthly visitors, filtered by user location.
GEOmeters includes four datasets:
  1. Local TITLEmeter (the top 1,000 titles by region)
  2. Local TVmeter (the top 1,000 TV shows by region)
  3. Local MOVIEmeter (the top 1,000 movies by region)
  4. Local STARmeter (the top 1,000 entertainment professionals by region)
Each dataset provides weekly rankings across 4 major regions (NAM, EMEA, LATAM, APAC) and 13 countries (United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, India, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Brazil).

We've launched an enhancement to the IMDb Parents Guide dataset, which now includes free-text descriptions of adult/potentially-harmful on-screen content and themes within the following categories:
  1. Sex & Nudity
  2. Violence & Gore
  3. Profanity
  4. Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
  5. Frightening & Intense Scenes
The dataset will continue to include the user votes on severity ratings (None, Mild, Moderate, or Severe) for the same five categories. If you would like to evaluate the new version of the Parents Guide dataset, please email imdb-licensing-support@imdb.com
