Today YouTube has announced a new official partnership with The Earthshot Prize – an initiative launched in 2020 by Prince William to discover, accelerate and scale ground-breaking solutions to repair and regenerate the planet.

As part of this two-year partnership, The Earthshot Prize will work with YouTube to produce content which inspires users to drive action against climate change with stories of urgent optimism from around the world. YouTube will also support the growth of The Earthshot Prize YouTube channel, building an engaged sustainability community and helping The Earthshot Prize reach younger and international audiences who we know care passionately about this issue.

From mini-documentaries and Q&As with the finalists of the awards to YouTube Shorts and creator collaborations, the content will help audiences better understand climate solutions in easily digestible formats. This includes amplifying series like the recently published ‘Most searched for climate questions’ and ‘Relax with the Earthshot Prize’.

This exciting new partnership will be a critical support to The Earthshot Prize as it builds towards its third annual Awards Ceremony, to be hosted this November in Singapore for the first time.

People from all parts of the world continue to come to YouTube to learn more about the climate challenges we face and to better understand their personal impact. Every YouTube video streamed has zero carbon footprint from our Google data centres and that’s because sustainability is and has always been a core value for Google since it was founded, two decades ago.
