Hamlet Downs is a beautiful stay in…

Hamlet Downs is a beautiful stay in Fentonbury. The hosts Steve and Trish were wonderful to deal with. Trish also prepared beautiful meals which we enjoyed especially our 3 course meal on our wedding anniversary. They also had some very cute and interesting farm animals including a platypus that occasional shows its face.

Nature and nourishment

Comfortable beds, lots of room for storing golf and hiking equipment . Burmese feast a highlight . Also tried the microwave reheat meals - delicious and nourishing . The fagus are about to turn. The property is holding up well despite a long grouchy drought.

Mt Field NP is a gem. Suggest drop into national park centre and get a key to visit Growling Swallet. A little known but amazing walk among towering mountain ash and tiny fungi.

I took my son on our first visit to…

I took my son on our first visit to Tassie and we stayed here for a lovely couple of days while we explored Mount Field. It is such a beautiful part of the world, we both enjoyed exploring the property and interacting with all the animals we came across. The hosts are lovely and caring and the food is absolutely the best we have ever tasted! The accomodation was so very cosy and comfortable! Now I need to replicate this cosiness in my own home 😆 Thank you Steve and Trish 🥰 xxx

Fantastic farm stay near Mt Field

Trish and Steve made our farm stay very memorable. The hideaway cottage is amazing, so cozy but with plenty of space for a family if five with everything you need. The home cooked dinner was also amazing. The kids loved the farm animals and tour on the buggy. We were also very lucky to see a platypus in their dam. Absolutely a stand out in our 3.5 weeks in Tassie. Thanks Trish and Steve.
