“Hello World !!” from PCN San Francisco Bay Area !!

Hi! My name is Kazuki. I handle Public Relations for the SF Bay Area chapter of PCN. I am proud to announce the establishment of a PCN chapter in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. Now, let me start off with a quick self-introduction.

Who are we?

PCN (Programming Club Network) offers programming experiences for children using IchigoJam (a small computer that runs the BASIC programming language). Our mission is to spread the joy of programming for everyone. Our activities include soldering circuit elements on circuit boards from scratch, and hands-on BASIC programming lessons.

PCN was founded by Taisuke Fukuno, Yuichi Matta and Hidekazu Hara in Japan, aiming to increase the IT literacy of every child across the world.

What is our teaching approach?

We aim to offer students an “exciting programming experience.“ We hold group lessons with tutors so that children are able to get help right away whenever they get stuck. We want children to create something uniquely their own, and to experience the joy that computer programming offers. Moreover, we want to use our events to build a community for children with similar interests, inspiring them more effectively than just self-study.

PCNシリコンバレー始動！！

みなさんはじめまして！広報を担当します小清水です。

私たちは、PCN（Programming Club Network）というグループを通して、世界中の子供たちにプログラミングの楽しさを教える活動をしています。プログラミング教室では、IchigoJamというBASICで動く小型コンピューターを使用します。

本日、PCNシリコンバレー支部を始動させました！今後、プログラミング教室の開催についての情報や、その様子、シリコンバレーでの活動を投稿していきます。
