Mpox IHR Emergency Committee
The IHR Emergency Committee on the multi-country outbreak of mpox held its first meeting on 23 June 2022. On 23 July 2022, the WHO Director-General determined the event to constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and issued Temporary Recommendations to States Parties accordingly. On 11 May 2023, the WHO Director-General determined that the event no longer constituted a PHEIC, and issued Temporary Recommendations to States Parties, in accordance with IHR (2005) provisions.
