Global strategies

Global strategies are important frameworks to help structure immunization policies, the implementation and evaluation of immunization activities and the coordination of multiple partners.

The Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP), which was endorsed by all 194 Member States at the World Health Assembly in May 2012 ,has provided a comprehensive strategy for the 2011-2020 decade.

It was developed to help realize the vision of the Decade of Vaccines, that all individuals and communities enjoy lives free from vaccine preventable diseases.

Under the GVAP umbrella, all WHO regions built their Regional Vaccine Action plans.

The Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) for the decade 2021-2030, envisions a world where everyone, everywhere, at every age, fully benefits from vaccines to improve health and well-being.

IA2030 is based on a conceptual framework of seven strategic priorities and four core principles (People centered, country owned, partnership based and data-guided).
