Forget Experience, Hire for Passion and Enthusiasm

Having a motivated team to lean on every day is vitally important for the overall success of any company.

When New Level Radio launched in 2007, I knew we wanted to build more than a music and messaging service for businesses. We also envisioned creating a positive company culture that would bring out the best in our team on a daily basis.

Today, 17 years later, New Level Radio is a leader in the casino industry, and while a large part of our success can be attributed to the unique product that we offer, it’s the positive, people-first work atmosphere that has been the secret sauce behind our growth.

From day one, we consciously decided to focus on providing our employees with a collaborative atmosphere where they feel valued and inspired.

Here are three primary reasons why this philosophy has helped our company thrive:

Employee Retention and Engagement

Having a motivated team to lean on every day is vitally important for the overall success of any company. Keeping your best and brightest team members engaged and loyal is paramount. That’s why we concentrate so much on providing a culture that motivates and empowers our people.

I have always hired people based on enthusiasm and having a passion for a specific area of our company. I have never hired based on experience, credentials or educational background. Skills and knowledge of our services can be taught, however, passion and a willingness to learn and grow are some things that can’t. There is always a place at the table for people who want to learn and grow and have a genuine interest in an area of our company.

From flexible work arrangements to regular team-building getaways and an honest commitment to work-life balance, we make sure our employees feel valued, supported and motivated when they come to work every day.

The Rolling Stone Culture Council is an invitation-only community for Influencers, Innovators and Creatives. Do I qualify?

This will typically translate into an incredibly low employee turnover rate, along with a spirited team of passionate, high-performing people who are genuinely excited about what they do.

Innovation and Creativity

The music, messaging and branding solutions we produce for our casino clients require an innovative and creative approach. That’s why we’ve relied on a work environment that inspires unprompted, out-of-the-box thinking, calculated risk-taking and open exchange of ideas.

When people love what they do, and they feel like they are making a difference, they are much more likely to go that extra mile for both you and your client. Relationships are so important in life and business, so this kind of commitment from your team makes a huge difference.

I consider all of New Level Radio’s full-time employees and freelance contractors to be strategic partners. We always welcome them to bring new ideas and solutions to the table. This has allowed us to expand and evolve New Level Radio’s offerings, stay ahead of industry trends, and consistently deliver curated experiences for our clients.

Client Retention

If your employees are happy, that enthusiasm and expertise should be obvious to your clients. And if your clients are feeling it, they are more likely to be satisfied with your product and remain loyal.

Trending

If your employees are disengaged or on the verge of burnout, they’re unlikely to go above and beyond for you and your clients. As we continue to expand our client base, we know our positive work culture provides us a competitive edge.

So, remember, it’s never too late to prioritize a positive workplace culture. It may require an investment of time, resources and deep thought, but the returns it can pay in terms of talent retention, innovation and overall success are well worth the effort.
