Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) frequent Icelandic waters in search for prey. They are the largest toothed whale and the largest toothed predator. They are deep-diving whales, but can occasionally be seen on whale watching tours departing from Husavik. While sailing across Skjalfandi Bay in Northeast Iceland, their unique spouts can be spotted from afar.
