Here’s how to make green with red onion skins:

1. Collect the papery outer skins of red onions
 • 2. Add them to a dye pot and cover with water
 • 3. Heat on a low temperature for an hour
 • 4. Strain out onion skins and return dye to the pot
 • 5. Add damp, mordanted fiber to the dye
 • 6. Heat on low for 30-60 minutes
 • 7. Allow to cool then remove from dye and rinse well
