How to make secure connections between wires

- Now let's take a look at one of the most common connections you'll make when soldering. We'll be connecting two wires. Now I have stranded wire here which has multiple conductors inside of it and then I also have, some solid core wire. We're going to use the solid core wire for this example, but it doesn't matter whether it's stranded or solid core. And making this connection is fairly easy and I would say a lot of people do it wrong or maybe not even wrong, but less than ideal. So let's get started with two pieces of wire and I will go ahead and strip them. I'm going to want to strip about an inch of the outer jacketing off. And you might be wondering why am I taking so much off? And the answer is the right way to make this splice is a NASA splice or alignment splice. And essentially what you want to do is you want to make a mechanical and an electrical connection, a very secure mechanical and electrical connection. And…
