Checking a 7-segment LED type
- [Narrator] The 7-segment LED, they come in in different size and different shapes. One of the ways in order to know if it's a common cathode or common anode is checking the data sheet of the part number. So you can check the part number for each 7-segment LED. Another method, if you don't have access to the datasheet, is using the multimeter. So let's go ahead and try to use the multimeter to test the 7-segment LED. So I'm going to use this component. So when using the multimeter, the very first thing that you need to do is using the com probe of the multimeter, and use that in the middle pin, which is the common pin of the 7-segment LED. The other thing is that you need to make sure that you have the multimeter to the LED sign over here. And then check it on that it has the LED sign over here. So once you place the common pin, use the other probe of the multimeter in order to turn on each of the LEDs. So I'm going to…
