Create and manage Character styles

Welcome to this video. When styling your text, you might realize that you want to bring the reader's attention to a specific part of the text. This can be a quote or website or you want just to indicate a specific kind of information or maybe just a bold word. Let me show you how you can do so by overriding a paragraph style with the use of a Character Style. Press the letter T to activate the type tool, then click and drag the cursor over the text you wish to edit to select it. Now open the Character Style panel and as we did for the Paragraph Style, click on the little 'plus icon' to create a new character style. A character style is a collection of character formatting attributes that you can apply to a selected range of text. Double click on the new style to open the Options panel. Here, name your style and edit the formatting. The setting that you will leave blank will follow the paragraph style rules while the paragraph styles formatting includes both the character and paragraph…
