- In describing the third Industrial Revolution, it's clear that this period is far from over. In fact, it seems like innovation in digitalization is becoming even more transformative. Consider, for example, the new features of your favorite app or the digital tools that are being introduced to your industry. Faster processing cloud services and improved software are driving change at a staggering rate. But as we experience digitalization in our work, home, cities and more, it's becoming apparent that a new pattern of technological and societal change is upon us. In many ways, the change builds on top of the third Industrial Revolution, and in doing so, provides a platform for remarkable disruption.
