The Ribbon menu and the Quick Access Toolbar

- [Instructor] The menu system in Excel is extensive. You can get overwhelmed by it if you worry too much about all of its many options. It consists primarily of a series of tabs across the top of the screen; file, home, insert, et cetera, going across and below that, some icons. The menu system is referred to as the ribbon, and above that you'll see what's called the quick access toolbar. Now, depending upon which version of Excel you're using, this might look a little different but you can build and add to this quick access toolbar which we'll show you in a minute. Each of these tabs here has different sets of icons on them. The home tab is likely to be present and the one you'll use most often. As we look at some of these buttons, if you've had only minimal experience with office software you probably already know about bold and italic and underline, lots of formatting tools here.
