- In the face of global challenges such as climate change, population growth, and urbanization, ensuring food security has become an urgent priority for cities. Cognitive cities, with their capacity to leverage advanced digital technologies and data analytics, are uniquely positioned to enhance urban food security and resilience. According to a report from the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization, the world will need to produce about 50% more food to feed an estimated 9.7 billion people by the year 2050. This challenge is further complicated by the changing climate and limited availability of arable land. Cognitive cities can address these challenges through various strategies.
