The Shader Editor

- Materials define the look of something but those materials are made up of different shader nodes and you can manipulate those nodes to do almost anything you want. Let's take a look. The easiest way to get there is to click this plus button and go to general and go to shading. In this new shading workspace, you'll see that Blender has rearranged everything. We now have a folder browser on the left. On a bottom left, we have a texture view. And at the bottom here, we have the shader editor. We're going to need some real estate. So, I'm going to left click and drag this up and then left click and drag this corner all the way to the left. Perfect. Now over here, I can rotate around and I can see how some general natural lighting will affect my material. This lighting is known as an HDRI High Dynamic Range Image and Blender comes with a few of them installed by default. So you can preview what you're seeing might look…
