Excel in the customer success interview

- Every interviewer walks into every interview hoping that this will be the one where they find the candidate to hire. They are not trying to trick you. Honestly, they are rooting for you, so please do them a favor and show up totally prepared. You can start by analyzing the actual job description to assess where you have strength and where you might be lighter in experience. Prepare bullet points for the requirements you can meet, and for the trickier ones, be prepared to demonstrate related skills or experiences. For example, if they ask for knowledge of the customer support software, Zendesk, and you haven't used it, you might say, although I haven't used Zendesk, I am familiar with many software apps and I'm actually the informal software coach in my current role. I'd be willing to take a tutorial prior to my first day if you hire me. If it's really a gap, just be honest and talk about your eagerness to learn, resourcefulness and passion. No one knows everything on the first day…
