LinkedIn Talent Solutions and The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Last updated: 1 year ago

The GDPR is a comprehensive European data protection law that provides significant data rights for individuals, including LinkedIn members. As always, we take a members-first approach in the way we build products and work with our partners and customers. We've updated our customer agreements to reflect GDPR requirements. As a LinkedIn Talent Solutions customer, you're able to make requests to export or delete data at the individual seat holder or the contract level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of data export can I request?

  • As a customer, you can delete or export your enterprise data at the individual seat holder level or at the contract level. The export process won't delete data. A separate request will need to be issued for data deletion. Certain data is already available for export through your enterprise admin account. To request export of other data or deletion of enterprise data, please contact your LinkedIn account representative or contact enterprise support.

What information will be deleted upon my request?

  • Data deletion can take place at the seat holder level or at the contract level. At the contract level, data deletion includes the following data as related to an employee's corporate account: Job postings, Hiring Projects, Candidate notes, Saved profiles, and LinkedIn Career Pages. The deletion process cannot be undone.

What changed with Recruiter System Connect (RSC)?

  • The one-click export feature, like the rest of RSC, is designed to be used in a GDPR compliant manner, and LinkedIn members have control, via their privacy settings, over whether Recruiter customers can export stub profile data.
  • Information like candidate data, applications, interview feedback, and notes shared with LinkedIn from the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) via RSC can be deleted at the candidate level. This deletion is done via LinkedIn's delete APIs which are triggered by the customer's Applicant Tracking System.
  • For data you have exported to your ATS using one-click export, you are an independent controller of the exported data. You can receive notifications from your ATS partner when a LinkedIn member whose data you have exported has deleted their LinkedIn profile. Learn more about one-click export deletion notices.
  • A customer can delete RSC and all of the data sent via the integration by sending an email request to ltsatsintegrations@linkedin.com.

Has anything changed with Pipeline Builder?

  • Yes. Leads will become stale and automatically purged once they are over five years old. This applies to records of all existing leads five years and older (including in prior generations of the product, including Talent Direct and Lead Capture Landing Pages).
