There are three types of ATS data sets required for RSC and CRM Connect functionality, which are securely transferred from your ATS system via LinkedIn APIs:

We’ll be using the data to improve the general Recruiter experience but won’t share or display your data with any other customer. We also don't use your ATS data to create or add new LinkedIn profiles or modify LinkedIn profiles with data viewable by other companies. Additionally, if you ask us to delete your data, we’d no longer use that data to improve our algorithms, but any improvements we made to general algorithms based on that data would persist. We have no plans to change this and if changes are made in the future, we’ll be clear and transparent about it. LinkedIn processes RSC and CRM Connect data to provide, support, and improve LinkedIn services to customers. The data is processed with the right security measures in place and in compliance with customers’ instructions. Customers control this data while LinkedIn is the data processor.

Note: LinkedIn doesn’t share or pool this data with other customers.

LinkedIn doesn’t have plans to change how data is processed. However, planned changes will be clear and transparent. If you are uncomfortable with the use of your data, you can remove the integration and purge it completely, unless there’s a legal obligation to retain the data. LinkedIn also uses industry recognized security practices to protect customer’s information residing on the LinkedIn platform.

Note: if you have the ATS-enabled Reporting package enabled, your LinkedIn account team will be able to view all LinkedIn Recruiter reports that are powered using this data in order to help you optimize your hiring strategy. LinkedIn uses industry recognized security practices such as password protection, data encryption, application security, physical security, and secure networks to protect customers’ information residing on the LinkedIn platform.

At this time, all customer data and personal data is stored in data centers in the United States.

LinkedIn complies with EU data regulations, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), U.S. Swiss Safe Harbor Framework, and the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the EU Commission for residents of the European Union. The 1-Click Export feature, like the rest of RSC and CRM Connect, is designed to be used in a GDPR compliant manner. Members have control, via their privacy settings, over whether Recruiter customers can export stub profile data.

The goals of the GDPR are consistent with LinkedIn’s longstanding commitment to data protection and transparency. This is reflected in our focus on building data protection into our products, providing our members with control over their data, and being transparent about how we use member data. RSC and CRM Connect are built to enable customers to use it in a GDPR compliant manner. Customers are responsible for their own GDPR compliance. Specifically, as with Recruiter in general, customers should get advice from their own counsel regarding GDPR compliance on the following:

Regarding the 1-Click-Export feature of RSC and CRM Connect, LinkedIn members can control what they share with third-parties via the Privacy tab in their LinkedIn Settings. Therefore, we only show the 1-Click Export button for members that have not opted out from having their profile information (in the case of 1-click export, their “stub profile” - name, headline, current company, current title and general location) shared with third-parties.

RSC and CRM Connect also include “delete” functionality. This enables customers to satisfy data subject access requests for deletion. If a candidate requests a customer to delete their data, the customer could delete that candidate’s data from LinkedIn via the RSC or CRM Connect “delete” API as integrated with their RSC or CRM-enabled ATS.

LinkedIn is a members first organization and will always respect the privacy and settings of a member. Some members you try to export may have a setting selected on their profile that doesn’t allow their information on LinkedIn to go to third-parties. We value the privacy of our members, so we won’t allow their information to be exported through RSC or CRM Connect if they’ve selected this setting.
